Gone are the days of splitting the class whenever students of Valenzuela City Polytechnic College (ValPoly) would use their computer laboratory.
They are now able to hold computer classes comfortably better after the school has acquired additional higher specification computer sets to upgrade their previous computer laboratory.
ValPoly Administration Officer Ms. Maricel Mauricio said the school has undertaken steps to improve their services. ValPoly bought 40 units of Dell Vostro desktops with Core2 duo processors and LCD screens to meet the demands of their classes.
The City Government provided funding for the said project which amounts to PhP 1,248,450. This tops the school’s existing information technology facility that only has 15 units of computers.
The officer further said that the newly-upgraded computer laboratory will be maintained by the school’s teaching personnel. “We have computer experts among our faculty who teach computer subjects and this laboratory will be useful for practical applications with their students,” she said.

The courses offered are suited to the demands of the industries in Valenzuela City and of outside the city.
The school offers short-term programs on computer technology and other related and applied courses which run for only four and a half weeks. ValPoly also offers regular four-year courses recognized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
In a related development, the City Government is set to build 16classrooms on its campus at Fortune 6, Barangay Parada. The 33.5 milion-peso project will start once all pre-construction requirements are arranged, the City Engineering Office said in an earlier statement.
The City Government has also turned over recently a brand new service vehicle for official use to the school.
