In the aspiration to have a better healthcare system in the city, the Local Government of Valenzuela, led by Mayor WES Gatchalian, grants an ambulance to Barangay Veinte Reales, February 27.

As part of the commitment of the City Government of Valenzuela to provide a good quality of life for Valenzuela residents, the new ambulance will be a great help during emergency situations. Besides, it will be easier and trouble-free to provide first aid and transport people who are seriously ill and injured to the hospital.

Mayor WES spearheaded the turnover ceremony of the said emergency vehicle to personally entrust the vehicle to the management of the Barangay Veinte Reales. He also reminded the Barangay officials and staff to take care of the vehicle for it to be used for a longer time.

In his short message during the ceremony, Mayor WES iterated how important it is to have an ambulance in every barangay, as it is the most used vehicle of all, “Alam niyo, kung mayroon mang isang sasakyan sa buong city hall – sa libo-libo nating sasakyan na mayroon tayo sa city hall, ang ambulansya ang pinakagamit na gamit na sasakyan. Mayroon naman po tayong ambulansiya dito sa Veinte Reales, dahil nakita ko, na-calculate ko po ang population, talaga pong kakailanganin natin ng additional na ambulansya,” Mayor WES said. [You know, if there is one vehicle in the entire city hall – out of the thousand vehicles we have in the city hall, the ambulance is the most used vehicle. Although we do have an ambulance here in Veinte Reales, we will really need an additional ambulance as I calculated the population.]

Aside from the new medical vehicle provided by the local government, Mayor WES also aims to train ambulance drivers to equip them and make them more knowledgeable in handling the vehicle whenever they are in emergency situations. This plays as one of his thought solutions for faster and safer transportation of patients who need a lift.

In the latest record, Valenzuela City has a total of 137 units of Ambulance.

Also present in the event were Vice Mayor Lorie Natividad-Borja, Punong Barangay Pio San Diego Jr., and the Barangay Council.
