Just after ending his 3-time term being the Mayor of Valenzuela City for almost a decade, then Mayor and now 1st District Representative, Congressman REX Gatchalian officially opens the REX Serbisyo Center, at Brgy. Malinta, June 30.

Completing his 9 years reign of being the highest appointed official in Valenzuela City, Congressman REX made sure that he will have his ‘so-called’ happy ending until the final second of his administration. 

“Sa kwento ko [bilang Mayor], matatapos ako bukas ng tanghali na ‘yung kwento, ‘yung ending, ‘yun ‘yung ending na gusto ko”, Cong. REX said in his speech during the turn-over of the Mayoral position. [In my story [as Mayor], I will finish tomorrow at noon with ‘the story,’ the ending, ‘that’s the ending I want.]

In his newly-opened office center, it is noticeable that he is also introducing a new trademark for his new position in the local government — the arrows. 

“Iyong arrow na suot suot namin, [kasi] gusto naming i-emphasize na [mula] sa City Hall hanggang sa tanggapang ito, patuloy tayong gumagalaw”, Cong. REX answered. [The arrow we're wearing, [because] we want to emphasize that [from] City Hall to this office, we're constantly moving].

REX Serbisyo Center houses the services that will be beneficial for the Valenzuelano. These services include medical assistance, burial assistance, education, scholarship assistance, and the constituent’s service which is allotted for other concerns of Valenzuelano.

According to him, his leadership will not end despite that he does not sit inside the City Hall anymore. He will continue serving people regardless of where they live. Consistency is what he wants to jog in every Valenzuelano’s memory of him being their Mayor.

Embracing the challenges in his new position in the local government, Cong. REX Gatchalian looks forward to working for his constituents in the 1st district, as well as hopeful to create better opportunities for the public.
