After signing the Interconnectivity Agreement with Pasig City last December 04, Valenzuela City now partners up with Antipolo City for an aggressive and efficient COVID-19 contact tracing, officially signing the agreement with Rizal province’s capital and first-class component city this January 08.

Valenzuela City’s ValTrace App is now integrated with Antipolo City’s Bantay COVID-19 App – manifesting a continuous expansion through linkages with other local government units toward the same goal of effective contact tracing.

The agreement now enables the use of ValTrace QR codes when entering establishments in Antipolo City and vice versa which will start on January 10, Monday.

Same with the integration of ValTrace and PasigPass, City Government of Antipolo, through its Antipolo Bantay COVID-19 app, can notify Valenzuela City’s Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU) if there is a Valenzuela City resident who had a recent contact with a COVID-19 patient in Antipolo City. Valenzuela City can likewise notify Antipolo’s CESU if their resident had a COVID-19 contact within Valenzuela.

The Interconnectivity Agreement also ensures that the local governments will safeguard data privacy and security covered by Republic Act No. 10173 or the Data Privacy Act of 2012.

Valenzuela City Mayor REX Gatchalian envisions that the signing of the Interconnectivity Agreement with Antipolo City will encourage other local government units to integrate systems and unite best practices and programs for the greater good of gradually beating the COVID-19 pandemic, saying “Naniniwala kami na ang ValTrace ay isang programa na efficient at effective at mas malawak ang naco-contact trace…

I would like to thank Mayor REX and his team for always helping and selflessly sharing the good practices of your LGU to a stronger partnership,” Antipolo City Mayor Andrea Ynares expressed.

Antipolo City records 90 active COVID-19 cases, 4,095 confirmed cases, 25 recoveries, and 112 deaths as of January 07. While as of January 09, Valenzuela City’s active COVID-19 cases downs to 70, with 8,641 confirmed cases, recoveries at 8,312, and number of deaths at 259.

We look forward to welcoming our friends in Antipolo kapag dumaan kayo dito sa aming lungsod,” Mayor REX shared.
