On top of the learning packets and modules to be used for distance learning this academic year, Valenzuela City continues its annual tradition of giving free backpacks or school kits containing notebooks and school supplies to all kindergarten and elementary pupils in all public schools in the City.

The distribution of the school kits and learning packets started last August 25, 2020 and is still ongoing across different public elementary schools and high schools in Valenzuela.

Together with the Department of Education (DepEd) Valenzuela, the scheduled distribution scheme is strictly in place conforming to the minimum health standards and safety protocols under the General Community Quarantine (GCQ) in Metro Manila. This includes only allowing parents and guardians to pick up the kits and learning packets at the different designated schools in Valenzuela City.

Around 80,233 Kindergarten to Grade 6 pupils will receive the free school kits which will also be their materials while using Valenzuela’s newest platform for the new normal’s distance learning modality, the Valenzuela LIVE Online Streaming School.

The learning packets, on the other hand, contain localized modules designed for the specific school which include worksheets, weekly home learning tasks, individual monitoring plans, assessments, presentations and activities for students on a weekly basis. It is expected that 140,869 Kindergarten to Grade 12 students will receive the learning packets in the entire duration of the distribution.

Special Education (SPED) students are not left out as they are also included in the roster of those who will also receive the learning packets and school kits.

Doubling the distribution efforts in preparation for the October 05 school opening, the City Government of Valenzuela ensures that students are well-provided for – committed to the Education 360° Investment Program Mayor REX Gatchalian has pioneered since 2013.
