Following the announcement of an extension in the General Community Quarantine (GCQ) for Metro Manila until July 15, a total of 10,600 enrolled students from the city’s different public daycare centers get Alagang Valenzuelano Daycare Nutri-Packs on July 2, 2020.

On July 1, the daycare students received their Nutri-Pack vouchers right on their own doorsteps with specific instructions on how and when they can claim their special goodies. In order to observe proper quarantine protocols, only the parents or guardians are allowed to collect the Nutri-Packs at the designated redemption sites. Bringing of children is strictly prohibited.

As children are among the most vulnerable sectors during the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, the City Government recognizes the importance of keeping the young ones healthy and providing them with nutrient-rich food.

“Public daycare students will get their 2nd Nutri-Pack from the city government... We want to make sure they have enough nutritional intake during these quarantine times,” Mayor REX Gatchalian said.

To ensure that the daycare students are properly nourished during this time, they are given Alagang Valenzuelano Daycare Nutri-Packs, which consists of 1.7-kg. powdered milk, an assortment of liquid milk, fruit, and jelly juice drinks, a bag of macaroni noodles, several cans of corned chicken and beef, and a bag of sugar.

This is already the 2nd Wave of Nutri-Packs as the the 1st Wave was distributed to some 12,000 daycare pupils back in April.
