To better serve Barangay Wawang Polo residents and bring city hall services closer to them, Valenzuela City opens its 16th Sentro ng Sama-samang Serbisyo (3S) Center today.

Wawang Pulo is situated at the western-most tip of the City, right next to the Meycauayan River.  This natural topography instantly warrants severe flooding during typhoon season that severely affected the state of the old Barangay Hall.

“It is with great joy that we bring you your own 3S Center where Barangay and City hall services are accessible,” said Mayor REX Gatchalian during the inauguration ceremonies.  The construction of the Wawang Polo 3S Center, according to him, lets government services go closer to the people instead the other way around.

The PhP 14.3 Million new 3S Center houses the new Barangay Hall and other new facilities namely, a Day Care Center, a Barangay Health Station, a Police Community Precinct, a Fire Sub-Station Office and an Alternative Learning System (ALS) Community Center.  The basement serves as station for the rescue boats.

Punong Barangay, Kapitan Rodolfo Soriano expressed his gratitude to the City Government for the construction of the 3S Center in Wawang Polo, “with this, you can expect a better and faster transaction. With this, us, your barangay officials, can serve you better,” he said in Filipino as he addresses the residents.

3S Centers or the satellite city halls are designed to conveniently and efficiently deliver government services to each and every Valenzuelano. “In the coming months, we will be opening seven more 3S Centers to better serve the whole City and decentralize the provision of City Hall services especially for the Barangays far from the City Center,” said Mayor REX.

The inauguration of the new 3S Center is part of the 395th Foundation Day Anniversary of the City.
