More than 600 government officials, police officers and students from the cities of Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, and Valenzuela are gathering in Valenzuela on September 1 for the launch of the National Crime Prevention Week in Northern Metro Manila.

Themed “Krimen ay Tuldukan, Karapatan ay Igalang (End Crime, Respect Rights)”, this year’s observance emphasizes the community- and service-oriented policing system, which seeks to bolster the partnership among law enforcement agencies, local governments, and communities.

Tuesday’s celebrations will start at 6:30 a.m. with a motorcade along MacArthur Highway that will begin at the Tullahan Bridge and end at the Valenzuela City Center for the Performing Arts Auditorium grounds.  A program will soon follow at the auditorium at 8 a.m.

City Mayor REX Gatchalian, guest of honor, will lead stakeholders in pledging support for the policing system.
