"New SK Federation Officers Swears In"

Last December 5 and 6, the Department of Interior and Local Government through its City Director Ms. Cecilia P. Kwan held a two-day leadership seminar called Integrated Sangguniang Kabataan Organizational Leadership and Reorientation – Basic Orientation Seminar (ISKOLAR-BOS) for the newly elected Sangguniang Kabataan Chairpersons. The simple but thorough seminar culminated on the holding of Election of Officers of SK Federation of City of Valenzuela.

The brief but tensed election gave the SK Chairpersons anxiety as they await who were destined to lead them. After a while, Ricmar “Ric-ric” Enriquez came out the undeniable choice as President who will represent the whole federation to the City Council as an ex-officio member. Now fondly addressed as Coun. Ric-ric, this boy from Pasolo may look frail but he is no feeble when it comes to thoughts. He immediately assured that he will do his best to address the needs of his fellow-youth. “Education and out of school youth and sports development programs will be the main priorities that I am going to address to attain a holistic development of the youth sector,” he said, “but cooperation of different stakeholders is expected to achieve this common goal.”

Immediately after the election, Valenzuela City Mayor Sherwin Gatchalian swore in the new agile officers. He says, “these young people who are full of enthusiasm to serve could be inspirations to the veteran public servants. That enthusiasm in their eyes gives me invigorated passion. Seeing them now reaffirms my undying hope for the youth and for the city of Valenzuela.”
