Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) has introduced Internet Payment Gateway (IPG) and Point Of Sale (POS) technologies to Valenzuela City Treasurer’s Office, to provide easier, faster, safer, and more convenient options for Valenzuelano taxpayers to pay their dues, which shall be all enforced soon.

Settling business license fees, real property tax, and engineering permits through Visa credit or debit cards, or paying online at www.valenzuela.gov.ph, the official website of Valenzuela, are the new payment alternatives that taxpayers can now experience.

Mayor REX Gatchalian deems the newly installed services “advantageous” in further enhancing the 3S (Simple, Speed and Service Excellence) in Public Service Program employed by the city government. He views this innovation as, “a new milestone toward our ultimate goal of global competitiveness and world-class excellence.”

3S is Valenzuela City’s anti-graft and corruption platform to guarantee transparency and good governance.  It was awarded by the Galing Pook Foundation as one of 2012 Ten Outstanding Local Government Programs in the country for innovation and excellence in local governance.

DBP Valenzuela Manager Lea Remolano proudly announced during a product demonstration that Valenzuela City is the first LGU in Metro Manila to acquire both technologies. She said that, “We have chosen Valenzuela City for this project because this LGU is known for its innovative stance and thrust on computer integration.”

The memorandum of agreement between DBP and the City Government of Valenzuela was initially entered into by former mayor, now Valenzuela City 1st District Representative Sherwin T. Gatchalian, and DBP Senior Assistant Vice President Catalina R. Avila, last June 26, 2013.
