A mix of gratitude and excitement is expected to fill the Valenzuela City Astrodome, as the city government employees gather for their annual general assembly dubbed as, “Pagsasalin Ng Mabuting Pamamahala,” where City Mayor Sherwin Gatchalian will turn-over his chief executive position to his successor, Congressman Rexlon Gatchalian.
In the general assembly, the employees will witness the accomplishments of Mayor WIN during his nine years of leadership, and Congressman REX’s acceptance of the Philippine flag from the former, as a sign of his commitment to continue implementing good governance in Valenzuela City.
Mayor Win is vocal of his full support to his brother who will formally assume his post next week, “Mayor Rex and I both yearn for more sustainable improvements in our city for we know that there’s so much more to do. We shall collaborate on our endeavors for Valenzuelanos’ deserve a superior local government.”
The several citations of the city government are sources of inspiration to Congressman REX to live up with the best practices of the current administration.
Last year alone, Valenzuela City was awarded in the prestigious Galing Pook Award for innovations and excellence in local governance for “3S (Simple Speed Service) in Public Service Program” by the Galing Pook Foundation. Moreover, the city was hailed as the Most Business Friendly LGU - Highly Urbanized City Category by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Cong. Rex is geared to strengthen the availability of social care for Valenzuelanos of all life stages, from birth to death. He is also set to closely monitor the progress of Valenzuela-Obando-Meycauayan (VOM) flood control project.
Barangay officials will join the city government employees in bidding adieu to Mayor WIN, and in welcoming Congressman REX on his new milestone as the next mayor of Valenzuela.
