The ‘Dancing Police of Valenzuela’ Willy Quinto did not disappoint his Valenzuelano supporters as he was named the grand winner of ABS-CBN’s Umagang Kayganda Gwapulis 2016.

The 23-year old hunky police officer of PNP-Valenzuela, detailed in PCP-9 Karuhatan 3S Center, won the search on October 14.

Considered as the best-looking cop in the country today, PO1 Quinto endeavors to show that aside from police officers’ dedication to their job, they have skills and talents too that they can showcase. He shared in an interview, “With the title given to me now, I want to lead as an example of a responsible police officer who is also able to show the people that cops have a lighter side too.”

The Gwapulis title-holder received a year’s supply of groceries and a new house and lot from the Kapamilya network. PO1 Mark Christian Sioco was named first runner-up, while PO1 Norman Wileman III won the Best in Talent award.

PO1 Quinto, a native of Angeles, Pampanga, shared that he has always wanted to be a police officer to follow the footsteps of his grandfather. Upon obtaining his bachelor’s degree in Criminology at Angeles University Foundation, he was immediately absorbed by the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) and was deployed to the Valenzuela City Police Station. For two years now, the gwapulis does the monitoring of the daily police operations in his block.

Gwapulis was launched by the television network to promote appreciation among law enforcers.  The segment aired following the popularity of the primetime show, “Ang Probinsyano,” starring Coco Martin; and the victories of Neil Perez and Don McGyver Cochico in Mister International 2014 and Manhunt-International Philippines 2015 respectively.
