Described by city officials as “the little city hall,” a 3S (Sangay ng Sama-samang Serbisyo) Center was inaugurated in Barangay Polo on Wednesday, September 25.

This city hall annex is a brainchild of Valenzuela City Mayor REX Gatchalian, which is specifically designed to house local government offices that are frequented by the people for various purposes.

Recognizable for its Spanish colonial exterior, the two-floor government building is the first of the 10 projects to have been opened. More 3S Centers are expected to mushroom in barangays Bagbaguin, Dalandanan, Gen. T. de Leon, Karuhatan, Lawang Bato, Malanday, Marulas, Punturin, and Ugong.

During the inauguration of the Polo center, Mayor REX said the buildings will prove helpful during episodes of disasters. Through these public service stations, the local government would be able to quickly respond to calamity-impacted families and individuals.

The newly opened 3S Center in Barangay Polo houses one unit of the Valenzuela City Rescue Team. It has a fire substation, a lying-in clinic, and a police community precinct. Its multipurpose hall may also be converted into an evacuation center every time a need arises.

Other 3S buildings that will be opened in the coming months will also include satellite offices for business permit and licensing and social welfare.
